i got an estimate for chrome on a set of chambers from global plating and they said ballpark figure of $300 per pipe.
i thought that was high but maybe not ($250 fender). :wtf:

It's about two to three times what it should cost for new chambers. Did you make it clear that you didn't need them to fill all the welds with copper and grind flush, etc.?

thanks jim ,no it was just fishing exercise to try and get a idea of cost of chroming ,hence my querry about making them out of stainless steel.
