It was cold!

Ice on the motorcycle is unacceptable!

Tell us a little about the trip. I did a 3-day camping trip last fall, staying at Meadows of Dan, VA, and riding up route 16, "The Back of the Dragon" and back on the second day. The weather was about perfect in September. I'll try to do a couple more this year.

I set up camp in Suches and rode Wolf Pen Gap Rd, Richard Russell Scenic hwy, up to Clayton, GA via 197 and 76 to Warwoman rd and back.

Exhaust stud on right cyl came loose. Tightened it and rode back to camp. Gonna have to figure out some high temp epoxy to use or something. Red loctite didn't do the job.

Other than that, bike ran good and strong the whole ride!

Below 30F at night though. I'm planning on getting to the Deals gap 2-stroke meet for at least one day.

Sounds like a fun trip. I've never experienced a stud coming out on its own. Usually they're quite a job to get out when you want to. I'm sure others here have some tips. Is the pipe mounted firmly so there's no excess stress on that joint?

Yes, all other mount points were tight.

I suppose you could upset the threads on the studs just enough to make them snug in the cylinder. Like give them a squeeze in a vise carefully.

At the end of the thread as it almost bottoms out. If you do it at the beginning, you'll run the "damaged" stud thru the entire threaded area.

Don't do it at the beginning. :)
