Beautiful set of heads, however the cost is nearly as much as a port job and head work, if you have a good set of heads to start with.

what do they do but put glamour on the pix?

I...I.. don't get it.

Are these girls worth the effort and money to make them pretty?

Clue me in at any time.

That's a ton of squish area. The price doesn't surprise me though, for heads machined from solid blocks of aluminum.

A person could fabricate a pair of molds, then have blank heads centrifugal spin cast, and machined for a whole lot less than those beauties.

A person could also make ONE mold, and build all 3 heads in one casting, work out all the ports and decks to fit that ONE head, and get a lot better heat control out of the whole business.

Very pretty, nice CNC machine work. But the heads on a 2 stroke, while these look like they have better squish etc, aren't nearly as good for price per HP as new cylinders would be, with some clever transfer design. New cylinders are more work, but are also a badly needed replacement part, I think I would shell out some cash for a decent set if available.
My younger brother once machined out the heads on his A7 350 and made new shrink fit chamber replacements because the original A7 heads were so bad.

I have SSO heads on 2 of my H2's.
YES, they are pricey.
YES, they are good.
YES, they are beautiful.
YES, they give power increase (8-9% according to Leo Molenaar on a stock H2), and better deto control.
NO, they won't crack.

There are now 8 H2's and 1 H1 over here in Norway that have SSO Billett heads, and they bring the little extra "special bling" and extra performance to the bikes.

But none of the bikes are stock though, all have portwork done, and only 2 have stockish (no with stock exhaust) appearance. All bikes are custom builds to some extent.

Like anything nowadays, there are going to be big buck items, and some will buy them. Value is in the eye of the beholder.
