I bought a sheet of Fel-Pro rubber fiber gasket material. My daughter is making me some bowl gaskets and float valve seat gaskets. My question is the material is .08 cm thick and the original valve seat gasket seems thinner than that. Will I have any issues as long as the float height is correct? Thanks.

You should be fine, Chris.

Cool, thanks. Thought so, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Float valve seat gaskets are not the same material as a bowl gasket, they are a hard fiber. I find them at the better hardware stores, plumbing section.

The float seat gasket thickness can also affect your float height.

Only if you set the float height before changing the gaskets instead of after. :)

Common sense would dictate after installing the seat and needle assembly.

I guess that was my point.... ;)

All parts of it are, simply, just using good common sense.

Yes, I knew I'd have to reset the float hight. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't another issue related to a slightly thicker gasket and changing the position of the float valve in the carb body. Thanks for the input. My original question said "as long as the float height is correct".
