I'm about done with the KH250 I'm restoring and I bought a nos clutch cover for it. The cover has the newer style Kawasaki logo and a smaller kick shaft hole and a smaller oil pump shaft hole. I have been trying to figure out when they changed to the smaller hole and what the part numbers are for the shaft. I can't figure it out from the resource site. The cover I have is part number 14032-1018 and it is listed as a replacement for 14032-095-080. I took the cover to a machinist pal of mine and he milled out the kickshaft hole and the oil seal space and made the oil pump shaft hole .25mm bigger so they matched the older cover. I was kind of blindsided by the cover and shaft difference and I would like to figure it out for future reference. I hope the new cover works with the modifications, I will see. The reason I am trying to make it work is that the cover was bought last fall and I haven't tried to fit it till now so I can't send it back. It was also expensive.

I just discovered that the recess for the oil pump is only 18mm and the pump is 20. Back out to Kelly's. :(

I'm starting to think that maybe after 1976 when the 250 was the only triple left is when the cover, kick shaft, oil pump and logo were changed.

The KH250B4/B5 had no slant to "Kawasaki"... see http://www.kawatriple.com/partid/clutch ... covers.htm
I don't know the part number for that cover.
