K2tec pipe broke. It was deafening even with earplugs. I think an H1 or H2 would be more deafening.

I can't imagine riding with stingers.

Can you get a caliper in there and measure the metal thickness? Just curious.

Yep, just can't mount chambers like the stock pipes. If they don't flop, they'll drop. That really sucks, Mike. :e4

I've been running solid mounted chambers since 1978 and the worst I've had was when the Wirges pipes with the single strap had the weld crack. That pipe's rear cone broke.

And looking at the photo, I think I might see a rubber mount in the hanger, but I'm not sure.

It seems everyday another set cracks apart. Denco had it right with the loop mount spreading the load. I even cut the welds so the loops could slide around. My Wirges cracked at the mount before I rubber mounted them. The rubber in the stock foot peg mount is too solid if tightened so the peg doesn't rotate.

Could it be too much weight from the silencers. :?:

The metal is pretty thin, maybe less than 1/16". Lucky I have a welder friend, he said he'll have it repaired today.

Yes I think I violated the "flop" rule. Just put the bike back together after a mild port job. Tightened up the exhaust side coming out of the head to stop minor leaking. Looks like it put too much tension on the pipe.

1/16" is about twice as thick as most chambers. I'm wondering if that material is 20 ga or something thinner. 20 ga. is about 0.036" thick, 22 is about 0.030" thick.
