Post subject:  ? On measuring rear shocks
Are rear shocks measured from center of top mounting eye to center of lower mount eye? Need to know as will be ordering up some new Hagons soon. Anyone know the exact length of stock H2 shocks? Also, is Dave Quinn still the best and go to guy for Hagons? I've ordered Hagons from them before. Thanks!

Yes, center to center. Yes, Dave Quinn is a great guy. I think I have 90 lb/inch springs on my H2 and they're on the stiff side as I wanted, so I can carry a passenger.

I think stock shocks are about 12.5", and I bought 14.2" Hagons. Maybe someone can measure a stock one if you need it more accurate, or maybe that's shown on the resource site.

Thanks Jim. I actually measured so me old stock H2 shocks I have but not sure where I put the recorded measurement? The old shocks are deep in a storage cabinet too and not easily accessible.

Yes on the stock length as I have to go back to the centerstand set up due to upcoming hip replacement surgery on the right hip. I will have to kick the bike with my left leg (now and post op) off the bike from the right side. Wonder if I could go with a slightly longer length shock with the centerstand still supporting the bike? I am able to crank my Yamaha in the manner described without any issues. I have some concerns about the H2 as it has a taller kicker and a long kick stroke. The centerstand allows stability.

I see. I didn't realize you had a worn out hip, wow. I've actually kick started my H2 with my left leg while on the side stand many times. I don't remember much about an H2 with a center stand, but my Guzzi is much more stable on its side stand than its center stand, it's a much wider footprint. Whatever's best for you though, of course.

As per JA's suggestions, I have a 14" RedWing shock (used and extender) and have the fork tubes out of the triple tree 3/4" (with a stock 19" tire) in order to get a decent weight bias.

Can you keep the TNT's with the center stand? I didn't think you could.
