I'm considering a KH250 that I discovered and the owner is willing to sell. I haven't seen it in person yet, but the pictures look really good, I mean really really good. Better than the magic camera that makes turds look shiney. The older (than me) fellow I was talking to explained it belongs his son, who hasn't been able to ride it on a regular basis in the past 10 years or so, just the ocassional start up and ride around the block. A carb clean and fresh battery, and probably tires and it should be ready for the Gap meet.

The bike is red, all complete, stock and original. Under 10K miles. The chrome looks great in the pics. The seat has been recovered in the wrong pattern but that's the only fault I can find with it. Didn't the 250 ever come with a disc brake up front?
What's a fair offer?

Mark

Hard to answer, I'd ask the seller what his prices  ,,,,,,,, some sellers are reasonable you go forward and make a deal 8-) ,,,,,,,, and others are rediculious and there nothing for a buyer to work with, they think they have a mona lisa....

I get the feeling he's in the 1500-2000 range. I know that with the H bikes getting expensive it pulls the prices on the smaller bikes from the bottom up.
Condition plays a large part of it.

That would no be unreasonable in the UK , but a tad high where you are, remember price is dictated by condition

The KH250 in the U.S. was a "bastard" model in the realms of the H1c, it only ever came with drum brake in the U.S. As to value, I suspect you should be in the realms of $1,500 - $2,500 . . . Only if it's as nice as you say, I've just paid nearly $2,000 for a bit of a turd S1b.

The red KH250 was an awesome lookinhg bike , in my high school days there were three at my school they were brand new bought for 600 ish dollars, and what a sound 8-) , thats were my intro to triples started had to have one found a KH400 instead almost new 700 dollars :D

It would be cool to have a "bastard" bike why can't the KH400 be a "bastard" too

It can, just put a drum brake on front and convert it to points!
I will be doing the opposite with my S1-C...

Well I guess this was just a waste of time. The "seller" would never respond to any contact. I guess he decided not to sell after all.
