I was looking for expertise I don't have. I have a recently purchased H1B and the gentleman rigged a later model (1974 ) example exhaust to fit. However, After spending all winter getting it ready, The system leaks oil from the collar areas onto the shelf below. Everything tight and new compression washers.
I just started looking for a new (stock) system (that belongs on bike, 2 piece) and they are hard to come by, not to mention: Expensive!!!! John, from Mid Atlantic has a couple left, but says they are for a 1969-71 H1, but, will fit mine, but, may have to file one of the mounting holes some????????
Does anyone know about this? I was hoping after spending this kind of money, that it would be a perfect, bolt right up. Reason , I want stock, I use and like my Center stand. Any help would be appreciated. Robert

Mounting stud size & spacing differs on later H1 cyls. All H1/B/C/D are the same.

I was under the impression that the exhausts between the 69-71 and 72, though slightly different internally (mainly baffles), are interchangeable for all years 69-72, requiring no mods?
