Question on chambers with an exit out the side and the end plugged. I'm looking at my s3 and where I see it exiting the best to the center of the bike is right in the middle of the large section. Anyone know if it really matters, for performance to have it more oriented to the last cone? Maybe an angled outlet? Inquiring minds wanna know. :D

It's mainly a bleed resistor. If you put it in the center section, it will be a lot quieter than at the rear of the rear cone. You may or may not have to play with its length a little (adjust flow resistance) to get optimum results.

I do a bit of RC boat racing. (30cc strokers, producing about 7 hp they claim). Many pipes have that design. I also know GP factory tuners did test that at the end of the era, and reported SLIGHTLY Power decrease. In other Words......go for it

Well I go to bike meets around here, always with a triple, and the wife tags along on her little bike. She sees all the people talking to me about my bike and a 2012 vstar 250 really isn't going to draw attention, so she asked me for a triple. She's sat on my 400 a few times and she could likely ride one. I have all the motor parts, frame and some misc here but missing a lot of the cosmetic parts. I was thinking of building a 400 for her but doing something special to it. I saw Marks bike up and considered it so I didn't have to fool around with building one. It would fit her well and it's nice, but on the fence about dropping that kind of cash right at the moment.
