45 a rotor for refinishing. im sure thinning will cost more elsewhere but thats a good price for proper grinding.

this however is why i go with later model rotors on the yamahas. its not worth the hassle to get all the work done to recondition a stock 40+ yr old rotor unless its required in a race class. but for a street bike its a huge waste of time IMHO.

I have had them surface ground , this is indeed the best way to ensure a flat disc. If you are going to the trouble of taking the disc off the carrier to get it ground a Z1000 disc will fit on the carrier and is 5mm thick.
