I have 2 69s. One is completely original but a bit crusty. The other is a low vin , re sprayed, semi cobbled together parts bike for the first one. The idea was to use the cleanest original parts from the pair to make one nice original bike. Or, that was the intent anyway . The more I look at the parts bike the more I think I want to make it my rider then sell off the original once its done. I have a set of chambers from a KH500 in great shape. Im wondering if they will fit the 69? Also, are there ignition upgrades yet for the early bikes? Its been quite a while since I have delved into the triple world.....although...this past summer my Harley and my H2 were the only twobike I registered and rode out of the ever growing collection.

Without seeing either of these bikes, I kind of like your revised idea to make the "parts" bike your rider, and selling the other one.

Do you know what brand of chambers you have? This info might be of help to discern whether or not the pipes would fit the first gen H1's...?

I have 3 sets of chambers hanging in the shed. Some NOS Dencos for my H2 . One is a set of Killers I believe. But I think my H1 chambers are Wirges..but im not sure. I dry fitted the up to the bike today before I pulled the motor and they seemed to fit. Some hanger and kicker clearance isues to work out but I think I will be ok without too much fiddling.

A wiring harness is a must for this one. Anyone have any experience with the re pop harnesses? Im also doing a fresh top end but I am not a big fan of Wisecos ...But there doesnt seem to be many other options

Not much to a stock harness, repo should be fine. Wossner's are the Pistons the cool kids are using.

Wirges (note that all late Wirges have 3 sections in addition to the headpipes and silencers)

These are S3 Dencos...H1 versions will have a longer main/belly section. (Note that All Dencos have 4 sections in addition to the headpipes and silencers.

Mine arent any of those. They consist of the spigot end welded onto a long rolled piece that is seamed on the top and bottom, then onto a silencer thats about 14" long. And they are black. I wish I could just beam photos from my phone onto the forum.

Arent wossners considerably more money than wiscoes? Are they coated pistons?

Pistons are about the same price..shop around for best deal. Both are now coated.

More like the first 2 sets of FBG H2 shown here. http://3cyl.com/mraxl/partid/chambers/fbg/fbg.htm

If I remeber correctly, they came off a KH500 swapmeet bike I bought years ago.

I also found out why the bike was parked all those years ago. Upon installing the cylinders, they broke a ring. How do I know? Well the left cyl had JB weld all over the mating area at the rear just above the injection line bolt. I was worried the case was cracked...thats why I deemed it the parts bike. Turns out the missing ring piece was sandwiched between the case and cyl creating a gap. Theres actually and indent where the I had to pick the ring from.
The bridged port is no longer bridged. Its been removed for some sort of porting attempt. Its actually not bad looking. Pistons are on STD bore still. The offending cyl sleeve is cracked though. Kind of a bummer. Sending the three out to Millennium for repair and bore.
