OK then he must have changed it or he lied and he wasn't the original owner. |

Your serial number is right for an H1B, so it looks like the ignition parts were changed. That's done quite a bit with triples, for various reasons. |

I thought you were saying they look like the ones you have. |

No just using the photo as a reference to what my old H1B had, my old H1B race bike had the H2 style ignition boxes, I though they standard, but it appears that they aren't, my old H1 is long gone, I have a H2A now that I just finished restoring. |

I have to admit I got confused between the original poster Fabreezai and BazNSW, probably quite a few posts back. |

Swap points ignition on H1B with H1D/H2 CDI is really a good thing and an easy job. But on the 70s should be a rather expensive swap. |

I have a feeling it may have been done by the dealer or bike shop, I think he may have bought it that way, he didn't seem all that mechanically minded. It was pretty common to take parts off showroom bikes back then, Kawasaki wasn't a big dealer network back then either, so getting parts from Japan could take forever. Rod I did fix the lean some what, I closed the gap so it sat more upright, so it's as it would have been from new, it will do for now. |

Ja-Moo wrote: One of two things then. Either your crank was totally trashed, and you needed new rod kits and premium bearings. Or you didn't price compare. It has been a while but I do know that I got my rods replaced and I am 90% sure I went for the premium bearings. I didn't want to have rpm issues. Seems like I also had a bad wheel; press fit hole was too loose. I'm going to tell myself that all of this is true and likely added to the cost. Yup, that's what it was |
