I have decided to remove my topic, because I came to feel it personally offended the last 3 responders, and I never intended it to do so, to anyone. My apologies for offending them.

Dave, I think it's fantastic that you help all the people that you do and I can't imagine trying to do that much myself, very gratifying but overwhelming. I help people when I can and it is one of the best feelings there is to help someone out that is in need. I wish there were more people in the world that cared like you do. Merry Christmas my friend!

Dave, Good on you for all you do for your local area. I pass it forward when I can. Unfortunately in today's society, many people don't understand the concept. My favorite donation is preemie clothing to the local NICU. My son was 10 weeks early and spent 5.5 weeks in the NICU. For the past 3 years, on his birthday, we've made a delivery of several bags of new preemie outfits to be used in the NICU and/or to be given to new parents to take home with their baby.

As for the general nice guy things to do, I've gotten some pretty strange looks when I've jumpstarted a car in the store lot, turned down cash and told the person to pass the favor on.

Merry Christmas.

What I do, is my business. I don't advertise, and don't want credit.

NO-ONE is asking you to do it any different if you do not wish to.

I agree do what you do and don't carry around guilt or pride for doing it or not doing it!
BUT I must say it reminded me of this:
I often feel like this.... both sides depending on the day

Alistair Sim made a great Scrooge, didn't he!

I hope you all have the days you wish to have.

My take on Dave's post is an encouragement to others to help if they can. I don't think he put it up there for a "pat on the back".

Hopefully there are enough folks who do help to make a difference in many people's lives. If there are only a few, then only a few get a helping hand.

Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays
Jeff
