Post subject:  Mixing of early cylinders with cylinder from later year

Have middle and right cylinder from 71 H1A and left cylinder is from later year (not sure what year). Would there be any issue using this combination on an engine? Look forward to replies.

The only difference is the height of cutout on cyl sides (late cyl can be modified to match early) and exhaust stud dia and spacing. Early studs are 8mm stepped to 6mm. Late studs are 8mm. Spacing is about 2mm dif.

on my first 69 H1 on the earlies 70 have two bridgeport and one H1A (center), the bike worked great :mrgreen:

Of course it's best to match them, but not totally necessary for running on the street.
