A lot of opinions on this... here are some things to consider:

Semi-syn gets the best of both worlds... like Yamalube.

Kawasaki K2 Injector oil used to be very close to today's Yama-Lube T2 injector oil. If the engine won't live long and prosper on Yama-Lube T2 Injector, there are extremely serious problems with the engine.

Kawasaki K2 was made by Key Oil Company back in the day, don't know what they are using today, don't care, I use Y-L T2 Injector, and don't look back to the days I ran Klotz, Bel-Ray Si7, and other "special" injector oils.

I've been using Walmart TC-W3 2-stroke oil at about $13/gallon for 6 or 8 years now without any problems.

Well thats a surprise  I run that oil too just not in my Triple, I have a small Landscape business have run many many gallons of Wal Mart TC-W3 thru my string trimmers, back pack blowers and chain saws no issues just run it cause its cheap and easy to buy , on your post I going to try it in my S3 , its way thinner than Klotz , if my smoke level drops I will run Walmart and if not my next try will be Yamalube

I'd guess that a chainsaw is more demanding on oil than a triple that's not raced. I don't know if you'll notice reduced smoke though, since it's an old fashioned dino oil.
