Hi All -
I initially knocked at the wrong door with this - thanks to Ja-Moo for directing me to the new neighborhood!

Harking back to a thread from over a year ago regarding 'inexpensive' S3/KH400 pistons from eBay - I realize there may be a few raised eyebrows and some shaking of heads over this; however,

After waiting a year or so with these pistons on the shelf in my basement, (although I may well have missed the relevant posts) I have yet to hear of anyone who has had a catastrophic failure after installing them; consequently, I tried fitting them into my newly 0.5mm re-bored KH400. Due to a deadly combination of ignorance and ham-fistedness, I distorted a ring trying to fit the piston into the center cylinder and I'm wondering if any of the forum members who bought a set of these pistons and decided not to fit them (and the tone of that thread made me think there were quite a few :D ) would be interested in selling the rings? I'd be willing to pay the original price for the entire set of 3 pistons, rings and pins if necessary :). IIRC, it was about fifty bucks!

Thanks,
Brian

If so, please PM and I'll be happy to take them off your hands.

Thanks,

With all the guys overseas and now in the U.S. that have 400's it is hard to imagine that wiseco can't make a run of S3/Kh 400 pistons !!!!!!!

Didn't our Wossner guy say he'd be happy to get them done if we'd commit to a reasonable minimum order?

Same ones Brian, but I paid over 100 for the sets each.
Cruisin Image was the seller.
Be glad to scan the paypal receipt for ya Bud.
I'm at work now but will look that up when I get home.
I had 2 engines to rebuild but one went missing a while ago with an H2 motor.
Thats another story.

As far as I am aware the only issues with the 400 sets, is the rings are 'soft' - easy to break/bend when fitting. heard no failures or breakages when running. the compression is different, a little lower - but performance seems similar.

the 350 sets are another matter, ringpins letting go, destroying engines. reports of 2 or more of them.

I bought a set of those rings separate from the same E-Bay seller for $18.00 a couple of months ago. Have not used them yet. I have a set of low milage (700mi) Kawi pistons I was going to try them on.
