We just ended a recent record of more consecutive days of rain here since 1873.
Saturday after chores, I thought I would take a ride into VA and got a little lost.
Then the big gray skies showed up and I got rained on heavy; first time the H2 got wet since I’ve owned it.

I use my I-phone 5S with Waze App. daily to navigate traffic in semi real time.

Will the vibes of an H2 kill an I-phone?
Also, looking at the RAM bracket to mount to the handlebars but wanted to see what has worked for you guys.

I don't think the vibrations will kill the phone unless it vibrates out the SIM or the SD card, but the rf from the ignition might interfere with it's functioning correctly. I've never been able to get a camera to work on MY H2 above 5000 rpm. I know that others haven't had an issue, though. On the other hand, my H2 doesn't interfere with the mp3 player function of my HTC Android phone which I keep in my pocket.

A handlebar mount will probably render it completely unreadable (vibrations) if the phone does work correctly.

Thanks for this input Jeff.
I didn’t think about the visual issue which is odd since my mirrors are pretty close to useless after about 3,000 RPM

Maybe a tank bag with a phone or GPS unit?

I've had video problems with a couple different cell phones - EMI induced but no issues from actual vibration.

I get the best results from my gopro on my helmet - but experiments show the closer I get to igy and coils it gets worse.

Stock iggy and coils -- Jims iggy new coils. did not matter.

I’ve got a JohnR6 box and stock coils.
That will be easy to check by holding device near engine and spinning it up.

Barry, Did you mount your phone for video or hand held?

Hi, new to this forum, lifelong rider, I finally got the H2 I wanted 45 years later.
YES, the 1974 H2B I just rescued killed my iPhone 12 mounted on a Ram X-mount claw in less than 100 miles. :banghead
I've done about 75,000 miles with iPhones on the handlebars, (RZ350, 850 Commando among them) with no problem.
Alternate mount is in the mail: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/nel ... id=1807263

Hi concours, welcome to the forum!

I've heard enough stories about phone cameras getting damaged by motorcycle vibration that I don't think I'd try to mount one on the handlebar even if I wanted to. The FZ/MT-07 forum has some stories, and that bike doesn't even vibrate much.

That tank mount in your link is pretty nice. If I got one I'd keep the phone blanked and stop when I wanted to use it though. The bike's instruments are enough distraction from what's in front of me.

I was just shopping in the last few days for a MC phone holder. I’ll cross off the one sold by RAM now. I have several of their other bits so thought it was quality.

Looks like that mini tank bag might be the way to go. Thanks for sharing this and welcome to the site!
