I just talked to a friend of mine who has a small bike shop. He used to drag race a homemade H2 drag bike that he ported to Gast specs and has a stock frame and 40mm Lectrons. His best was 9.24@ 134 mph. He has over 600 passes on the same top end and never replaced a piston. The crankshaft is a used stock one and has given no problems.

He also met Dave Schultz at the Gator Nationals when Dave was racing four strokes. He asked him what was the best he ever got with his H2 Pro stock bike and he said " 8.42@ 155mph".

150 miles! Just broken in... :D These bikes can take some abuse. I'm amazed any of mine start and run...especially when I consider who's doing the wrenching.. :shh: . And that scary thought flashes through my mind at 100+ MPH sometimes!

I asked Dave what his personal best time was on his H2 and he turned to Meredith and asked her, she just shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't remember. That was about 2000 or 2001.

He did tell me at the US Nats in 1993 that if he was still running an H2 he would be in the 7s. Considering how fast he went with 1985 technology I have no doubt he would have.

Have seen Dave's bike in 1985 at Norwalk. It did not look that spectacularly quick, just very clean and well prepared.
The bike was not run that day, unfortunately. Dave surely did some magnificent stuff with triples.
