It's definitely looking good, Carl. It'll be another thing for me to look forward to this May... seeing it running. :)

Thanks guys, Tim got me motivated to get on my project hard, and I am glad I did because I have a long way to go! A lot closer after the last two weekends. I will surely bring it with the KZ mags on it. I have a lot to work out yet but after putting the body work on I think it looks pretty good with the mags, I just need to do some more cleanup. I have a couple of other bikes that will need some attention before the gap also.

Well back to the drawing board on the throttle cable. The cable the Mr Turbo supplied is too short for the stock throttle tube so I had to make a new cable. Went to put it on this past weekend and the factory assembled end popped of the third time I wacked the throttle open... (not running of coarse just checking the slide travel) :(

Darn I have had a hard time with this cable. I am on the 5th attempt as we cant get the ends to stay on. The boys fixed it by tig welding the stop on the end which finally held, but the cable ended up 1/2 inch short. :banghead I got another length of cable and the boys said they would fix it...I'm glad they are so handy! I wont be able to finish in time without their help

I cut cables to fit my bikes a lot, I buy the outer cable sleeves, crimp them on, and make my own brass ends and always silver solder the ends on with a propane torch, have not had one come off yet. Slide the inner cable through the end and silver solder it from the protruding end, don't heat the cable end. Never use lead based soft solder, it won't last.

Yea tried to silver solder it and had my bike mechanic friend try it but he thinks there is something in the new cable causing bonding issue's. We were able to get it to finally stick but then it ended up too short. I got another length and we will try again tomorrow.

Got to get the oil out of the inner cable with brakekleen or similar, is one problem I found, other than that use the paste flux and enough heat.
