That one on the left is an anti-tamper Torx.

Torx and torx-less. The knurled section of the "torx" bolt has more "bite" to it and that section goes all the way to the base. The "non-torx" knurled section stops just short of the base.

That is funny! Whilst I like to give a little bit of info in my posts, I rarely reveal everything . . . You just did! You just just ended the history of : "The front caliper bolts on a H2 Kawasaki" . . . If ever i get to write a book on the subject, most people may fall asleep by the third page!

I'm betting they just changes their bolt source...

Is my headlight some kind of period H4 upgrade? For certain it is not the original Stanley unit. Riding home from the bike meet last nite I could actually see which caught me by surprise

Yah, got that part, not original headlight. I'm wondering if the headlight it does have is something from the 70's or some newer, readily available H4 unit.

The nacelle/bucket on my bike is steel. I read somewhere that a really early H2 would of had a plastic one.

This dead Ebay auction makes the claim:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KAWASAKI ... _500wt_653

"...Up for sale is an early vin 1972 Kawasaki H2 750 triple. This is one of the early "prototype" bikes manufactured in 1971 with the plastic headlight bucket and different cylinders. This is a matching number bike, frame is H2F02346 and engine is H2E02386. These early vin H2's are the Holy Grail of 1970's muscle bikes and do not come up for sale often so bid to win..."
