I finished the bike too. The entire summer was spent developing the engine. Adding and learning how to get the fuel injection to work took a lot of time. I had a lot of small set backs that ate up time to like, chasing wiring issues, software issues, a bad fuel pump, cracked cases from the kick start coming back, etc. Lots of frustrations but lots learned.

I had to add a counter balancer as the engine shook the chassis to much. I tried changing the crankshaft balance factor first but results were not good. It is a lot better but I couldn't balance it all out due to not having enough room to add counter weight.

I learned through my trials and tribulations that the KX500 engine will never be adaptable for road racing so I've cut my losses and am taking what I learned from it to design a new 400cc single cylinder engine that will work for me and be much better. I've been working on that since October as part of my major project for my final year of university. Most of the major components are designed and by spring time I think I will be close to being ready to start making parts except I need to graduate and get a job first.
I'm also hoping I'll have time this summer to return the H2 to the road.
