Mark,
I think I may be the customer that Jim was speaking of in an earlier post. I had purchased a VCDI-30 and programmer for my H2 from Borut. He had told me that he had never tried a VCDI-30 with anything other than a Zeel CDI but didn't see a reason why it wouldn't work. I had a new all in one unit from Jim and if the Zeel wouldn't work with it, I was just going to past. I received the unit, installed it and couldn't get spark. Jim worked with me for about a week maybe 2, troubleshooting and making suggestions. (Thanks again Jim!). I contacted Borut who was also helpful but in the end, I wound up sending the unit back to him and he did something to make it "more sensitive". He called it the VCDI-30S. The unit now works very well with Jim's CDI and I would imagine with a stock CDI as well.

One fly in the ointment was that I have a capacitor rather than a battery and the Zeel has to have a battery to boot the controller. I installed a small battery for the controller and wired it to the capacitor for charging, mounted an on off toggle switch under the seat and I'm GTG.

Another issue was that I had to use Resister plugs to get the progrmmer to function while running.

Now I have the programmable curve, a shift light and rev limiter. Mission accomplished!

Not sure if you remember but you made a couple of timing suggestions that also worked out well.

Hope this helps,
Bill
