the more I look at this bike... the more I think its a restored bike. little things like no witness paint on the mounts, rear pegs not straight up, the pingle, look under the cap. the neck is a different color then the rest. wrong grips why? isn't there supposed to be a washer under the left rear motor mount nut? I don't buy the all original story. Maybe all the parts original to the bike... I am sure there is more, given a closer inspection.
Mind you these are mostly Honda based observations.

The bike did go down, Thats why the grips replaced,It is original paint,Believe me its original. But everybody has there opinion. We have all the paper work also.

Thats a really nice bike and the paint under the cap on the neck is probably just rusted or faded. I don't think most people back in the day cleaned that. :?:

Thats correct Dewman, the fading is tarnished gas. The original owners son received this after his death, a true guy.
The pipes have never been off. The grips were replaced after the bike went down.

So if a owner changes the petcock that makes it a NOT ORIGINAL. Petcocks are a dime a dozen.LOL I agree the tires aren't correct. Should I put a original set of Gold seals back on that I have.???
Ill be sure and change that ASAP.

I went over kill on the 71 H1-A Dewman, some guys say to much. This is one that should just be left alone and cleaned up, correct grips and so on.

only 4 petcocks? I have a tote full of them. I have been harvesting petcocks from kaw triples for last 10 years. someday the cores will be worth a ton I am sure. same with throttle castings, I have a big pile of them. never leave them behind!

Maybe it is original. I know Hondas real well, kaws somewhat, and there isn't any witness paint showing anywhere, and I don't think they would run a nut flat against the frame with no washer, it also extends too long to not have had one. I will give ya the tank paint gunk issue, as its pretty old.
This should have an undrilled fender, the early windows on the brake vents, whats the rim code? no punch plate right?
Its a beauty. really awesome, I wish 1670 was that nice. someday maybe. not many low tower originals left. mine has it. what got me looking it over close is its too nice! could you do a photo album with the routing and document it some, so I can get mine right? I know all my kaws have been apart a few times... so who can say what went where with any authority... Except maybe RB.

The rim code is correct, Im sending pics to RB today, Im hoping its all correct except the minor issues. A good friend of mine has #431 and it was found in Oregon, now this one in Oregon also. Makes me wonders how many under a 1000 stayed here when coming from Japan. Did the boat off load in Seattle or Oregon?????
