sweet. well, I initially had the PCDI-11 box, but the late H1 trigger wont fire it, but im going to test again. yes, it does replace the cdi boxes which is nice. just for some reason didnt work with the H1 system.. yet.

I do think though that the 11 will work with a dyna style pickup. Im def going to do some mad scientist stuff with it.

I have 2 other zeels, one on the rz and the other on my RD. great units. this single box is a great simple unit, but i would like to get something for the 'single' pickup H1 units that replaces the boxes. then, realistically, you could run an S series stator winding and get way more charging capacity :D

PDCI-11 is a similar ignition but it is a single channel ignition designed to be triggered by a single sensor so it would need to see a trigger 3 times for each revolution to fire each cylinder.

You can see it here: http://tinyurl.com/jwnm6dt

Zeeltronic products were designed to use reluctor type sensors like the H2 has and most 2 stroke Yamahas. Most units can also use hall effect type sensors (Dyna) but the wiring is slightly different. Hall effect switches require a separate +12V supply wire while reluctor type switches do not.

This drawing http://www.zeeltronic.com/manuals/WIRING_PDCI-11_hall-sensor.pdf shows how to wire a Dyna sensor. If you need any help with it feel free to give me a call at 404-680-6502.

Yeah, I have that diagram. My point was that I'm pretty sure the stock trigger won't work, which is my goal. Either way I'll be experimenting

The guy I referred to above had trouble with the stock H2 pickups not triggering the system, but Borut made a change and fixed that. I would think he can or did the same for the late H1 system.

I have one question.
Most, if not all, of the Zeeltronic programmable ignition controllers has a maximum rpm of 20000 rpm.
If a single channel controller is used on a late H1 it will need to handle at least 33000 firing events per minute, and to the controller this will look like 33000 rpm.
Can the VCDI-04 handle that?

Maybe... But I rode it to work yesterday and hit 9500 a few times. I've free revved it to check that in shop w/programmer and have seen it hit the rev limiter which is set to 10200. (Had programmer connected and its accurate). Either way, the '4' box works fine. The same box is on my rd and its wasted spark with revlimiter set to 11k. I think 'programmable' limit is 20k

I hope so.
