I understand the noise dilemma. I love riding my H1, it has Higgspeeds and I just repacked the silencers with stainless steel material. Even with fresh packing it's very loud. I always wear earplugs when I ride, that doesn't help the neighbors though.

Jim, I feel your pain. I sold mine because I wasn't riding it and needed the money to make a final push on paying off the house. Even though I got good money for it at the time, they bring a lot more now and it's doubtful I'll ever be able to buy another one. I'm still mad at you for outbidding me on the ebay auction of your bike. Think long and hard about it.

Did that years ago and no way close to stock SPL IMO.
You gave me the instructions!

Funny, before I posted I was asking myself if it was you who did that.

I'm amazed that's not quiet enough. Who's complaining about the noise? I rode my H2 in Bethesda for many years, but it has been a while. Now when I want to be quiet, like when I'm passing a cop, I just upshift and lug on by with a low rumble at 1,500 rpm.

Be happy that you are no longer in the land of "The Entitled".

I've never had an H2 with stock pipes but if an H1 is any indication, Denco's are MUCCCHHHH louder no matter what the packing material.

What about cutting away the outer shell on a stock Denco and using a normal silencer?
As I recall, my FPP's are much quieter (but gutless down low).

We need to continue this discussion in more mountainous surroundings.

Less power and "umph", but why not install the stockers and then you may end up riding it enough (even if that means once a month) to make you decide to just keep it for awhile longer?

Bike didn't come with stock pipes and I can't justify the cost of repro's
