Went for a nice ride this afternoon, decent weather getting rarer this time of the year so I took advantage of it, plus had gone one larger main jet and one notch leaner on the needles, also the new shift detent arm, so I wanted to see if it was what the bike needed. Was sitting on the freeway at 90, and felt the right clip on didn't feel right, looked down at it, and the bar tube was JUST about to come out of the billet fork mount. This H2 is hard enough to hang onto anyway, let alone with only one hand and no front brake. I eased off the throttle and tried to squeeze the front brake and it felt really unsteady so I just let the speed bleed off while I tried to shove the bar back inside the mount, but the master cylinder banjo was hitting something. Was right at my freeway exit so I just rolled to a stop with the rear brake only. Managed to push it in a little more so rode to a gas station and got it slid back in, but no 5mm hex key on me to tighten it. Carefully rode home and fixed it before riding back here to the shop.
I've put thousands of miles on the same make of clip ons on my Yamaha XV750 cafe bike and never had an issue, but this H2 does vibrate a lot more. Think I'll Loctite the screws now.
