And so would anybody who had free access to it. So put a password on it, and whoever wants it pays for for the use of it, like any regular hotel, no? When I was in VA last month, it was free in the lobby, but had to pay $10/night for use in my room.

Really? I've never stayed in a hotel that charged for Internet service. I thought that was expected these days.

I named my router at home "FBI Surveillance Band" just to keep the neighbors guessing.

The internet service at the resort is satellite based, therefore limited in bandwidth and is expensive. Broadband isnt possible there. They have it locked down because the guy across the street used up their monthly capacity in 2 days a couple of times

Jim, I think in most places, its free in the lobby only. When I was at the Sheraton this year and in Branson in 2012 it was the same thing.

Maybe you stay in a different class of hotel than I stay in. For the last dozen years, any hotel I've been in other than in the NC mountains where service is limited, gives free Internet service in the rooms.

I travel regularly and agree. I've never paid for in-room internet service. Keep in mind, my travel is mostly business related, so I stay in Marriott and IHG chains, don't know what the privates or 5 stars are doing.

Ready for another trip over the Skyway, Rick? I'm looking forward to one or two.
