You can check their web site or ask Rick, but as of last year there was not only no Wi-Fi there, but no cell service and no Internet connection of any kind that I'm aware of. You can drive to Fontana Village and pretend you're staying there, and use the Wi-Fi and cell repeater they have in the lobby. They also have a desktop computer set up for their guests and party crashers.

Should I bring my Champ?

I thought the restaurant had a weak and sketchy wifi but I was never able to connect.

I did find a good cell spot going towards Robinsville but could not find it on google earth - I'll probably find it on a ride down there though.

There is an overlook about half way to Robbinsville that works for cell phones. The trees have grown up and can not see anything so it has become a cell phone lot.

First couple of years I attended, one of best things was the lack of cell phones, TVs, Internet/Wifi. It was all about two things... Riding & Riding. ;)

If youre on ATT, you can go to the fontana dam, one of the upper turnoffs to teh right, and sometimes you can peg a tower. The closest to Deals Gap for a good signal is the outskirts of Robbinsville.

The repeater in teh Fontana only works for VZW, Last I was there, no ATT. Wifi is up but you have to get near the restaurant to get a signal, and its a small coverage area.

You are absolutely right, but I have good reason to not completely check out of the grid. Yes Jim if it isn't a big inconvenience bring your champ as I will be bringing mine, we will try to get a little flying in.

The funny thing is that the Resort has a website and FB page that they post almost daily, maybe they don't post info from there?

If they do have it, it's a pity they can't offer it for a fee for those who want wifi.

They had it for a while, but the bastard that opened up across from them was stealing it. So they only use it when necessary.
