When I was the service manager at Yamaha of San Jose, the parts manager and I used to go ride that road all the way. It was great. One weekend, we were closed, holiday, and I rode Harry Klinzmann's TZ750 on the road to break it in. That was my first ride on Hwy 9. ot knowing there was an intersection at Hwy 84, nor a restaurant there as well, nor that there would be all sorts of sport riders there, I lazily cruised through the intersection and past the restaurant, 5tth gear, 10,500 rpms, Daytona gearing, breaking it in for Daytona. It was after the place that I realized what was there, stopped, turned around, went back to Alice's, and parked the bike up against the flag pole. People all over the place, and sme asked where the low flying aircraft was that just buzzed the place.
I was lucky, nobody was in the intersection when I flew through it.
If anyone has a chance to ride that road that hasn't, it is a great road, but a caution, some of the residents now will scatter gravel from their driveways onto the road, and/or wet their areas in front of their places, to cause riders going "too fast" to "slow down". I understand the CHP is now all over the place there on weekends. Just ride it with utmost care.
