I am so pissed.. https://www.facebook.com/thetonup Been planning on going for 2 months. 1 1/4 hr drive on my Triumph Bonneville. Yeah yeah, I need something different to ride while I'm rebuilding my old bike. Weather stations said all week 40% chance of rain. One hour before going anyway they said 80% chance of torrential downpours and hail. So I gave up, went for a 1 hour ride in the other direction and called it a day. No frickin rain anywhere!!! sigh..... |

Rain sucks - hail sucks more. Allen was out here couple years ago - weather look nasty but we took a chance. Sky opened and the hail was hurting a bit for me - So I turned around - said goodbye to Allen who is a riders rider anyway. |

I rode my room mate's Suzuki 185 dual range in a sleet storm. It was mid 30s and the sleet was big raisin/small marble size. That hurt like mad but it was worth it. I hated to see him go ( long time friend ) but his live in girlfriend wapsychoticic ![]() Jeff |

a bunch of friends and I used to purposely go out and ride in the rain when I was in my late teens/early 20's. This was in Pheonix during monsoon season, so sometimes the roads would be totally flooded. All of us had sport bikes of some sort and would try to find the biggest (DEEPEST) water to ride through over and over again. Usually wearing nothing but shorts and tennis shoes.... That's it. ![]() The main thing I learned is that it is virtually impossible to shift gears (water pressure on top of foot) when doing more than 30 mph.... ![]() The other thing is that, a CBR600 can cross some seriously deep water without stalling. ![]() |
