Okay people, finally a long awaited ride. Bring a Triple, or a 2-stroke, or anything with less than 4 wheels to the Stanford U parking lot directly across from the stadium, July 21st, time as noted above. Let's "crop dust" the hills!

I don't I will make it .. Dave has my spare crank...being worked on right now .Bike runs but has knocking sound that can be heard with slowly kicking motor over ( I think a bad small end of rod with a bad wrist pin) right side. Bike runs strong but knocking sound has me worried. :e4

Jess

P.S. I could make it if I had a bike to ride

That's what I need! A dirt track triple! I wonder how bad that would scare the camels out here?

NOTICE: Due to lack of anticipated participation (that's a mouthful... :e3 ), the meet/ride for Saturday July 21st has been POSTPONED to a later TBD date, when more "smokers" and/or smoker's bikes are available and running. In the meantime, if anyone can make it down (or up) to Monterey the following Saturday July 28 (GP race weekend), Dave and I plan to arrive around 9am or earlier, maybe have breakfast, then take a short cruise before finding a choice spot to park along Cannery Row, which as you may know is closed off to all but motorcycle traffic and parking in the early afternoon through the evening. There we will field questions to onlookers and gawkers who used to own one of these bikes when they first came out, or remember a friend who had one and almost killed himself when they got a little too carried away. Last time there was only Dave and myself, and later James showed up on his high-mileage 72 H2, so 3 guys, 3 Triples, 9 cylinders...but if you can make it the more the merrier!

Heading out first to Hollister today for an overnight stay at a Best Western, so Saturday morning's drive to Monterey will only be under an hour instead of 3-1/2 hours total. I'll handle the return drive back to Sac with a tall can of AMP in hand!
