I would drive my BMW R1200R. I can get there in three days; an 8 hr day, a 7 hr day and ending up in Colorado Spring in a final 6 hr day. I'd drive to and return from Colorado by super-slab. I see no sense in taking back roads across flat country; I'd just soon lay down and real in asphalt.

For now i'm just perusing ideas.

Hoping to spend a solid 8 days riding about southern Colorado.

I'm thinking of taking the fifth day off the bike in Aspen. I'm also thinking of ending the Colorado riding by heading to Santa Fe N.M. on day 9 to spend a day off the bike before heading back home.

When I get a loop through Colorado figured out I'll post it.

Any recommendations on a Motel/Hotel in the following:

Aspen Co
Redstone Co
Telluride Co
Durango Co
Santa Fe NM

Looking for bike friendly places, that is:

park outside the door of your room (like at the Gap) or at least at the front door to the main lobby
walk to places to eat etc....
