Hi guys,
Thursday night I got a call from my brother about 7:30pm, he was riding his 1980 Honda C70 scooter (all stock, everything working) up the road when a girl (who might have been texting} crossed right in front of him. He ran into her right front bumper, flew over the hood then broke his femer and had a few scratches.
Thank God he was wearing jeans and most of all his Helmet. The ambulance took him to a better hospital which was about 25 miles away. After meeting with the surgeon about midnight, he had his surgery on Friday about 2pm which lasted about 3 hours.

He has a titanium rod going from his hip to his knee. Thank God his knee, ankle and hip are ok but this was a compound fracture.
Between our family, myself and my brother he's thankful that he still has his leg...what a miracle!

I won't be able to make it up to see you all and will miss being with you guys and girls. I'm at the hospital everyday to make sure all is going well. Hopefully he will be discharged by Tuesday.

Prayers are welcome and hope to see you guys soon.

Charlie...

Wow...hate that....but I've been there-done that...right femur....so has VFRick.
I was on crutches for over 6 months ! Hit from the rear while waiting for traffic so I could turn left.
I don't wait in the road any more !!! Not even in a turning lane.

I was hoping it might cool down some. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be 96 here.

Thank you guys for the prayers and support. My brother finally got out yesterday afternoon. Thank God we have great family and friends helping out with him around the house.
He's doing pretty good and staying off the pain meds...He lives about a mile from me so I'm there as much as possible along with the rest of the gang.
Now it's time for healing and patience.

Thanks all you guys,
Charlie
