Thanks Ev, yes have been watching. Here's the latest on their FB page:
Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort 2 hrs ago (as of 10:20am today).
Update: Deals Gap is ok the rain has helped put it out and fire crews where able to go home early this morning. The power and phones have been knocked out and probably be a week or so before those are back so please email us for info not call you will not get a answer. Gatlinburg has seen significant loss of property and still a ongoing fight. Again please keep all the men and women still their fighting that monster.

Having been close to burned out and evacuated for days not knowing --- it's tough. My hopes and prayers to everyone affected.

Looking over the garage to the backyard behind - we were staged evacuation but have not been told to bug-out yet but it was so close.

Got the word to leave NOW - within minutes day was night (this is 5pm daylight) hot ash falling on me - last picture of the house before we left. It was like something out of a movie.

Just plain scary…. I was home when my house was hit by a tornado, ripped my house and the town apart, very scary stuff, but it happened FAST no time to really put thought into it.
BUT seeing and waiting for sure total destruction by fire seems far more terrifying.
My prayers too go out to all those affected.

All our lives we see other people and places going through disasters - and we're sad and sincerely give serious positive thoughts to those impacted.

But until you're involved up-close and personal it's different. When I see people going through these kinds of hardships it hits home to me - very emotional. I know what they're going through.

Wow! Great article/pics there Roger. I've never seen aluminum rims liquefy. Wonder if Cade's Cove was spared? Lots of history and wildlife there.

Cade's Cove wasn't harmed.

I did after you mentioned it, Shane, but I had to search for it with "vintage motorcycle training video auto week" because the link wasn't on the page. Pretty amusing.

The link updated, I guess.
It was on the right hand side.
Lots of cool bikes, cars and retro footage.
I believe it was filmed in 1972.

I guess I'm easily amused, I've been sitting with my foot elevated for
two weeks.
Had surgery on my ankle again. :banghead
