Thanks for sharing the pics Carl! Good variety of bikes there. That Suz GT380 sure looks good!

How about the brake and clutch levers?

I did have a black handlebar on it, but it got replaced after a crash, and it was before they were easy to get in black, so I didn't bother with another sandblast, prime with DuPont Corlar and paint with black Imron. (knowing you're a painter, I figured you'd get a kick out of how all the black parts got black)

It was a look I wanted when I painted it in 1979, and I was really happy with the way it turned out. Interestingly, the Imron preserved all the parts that were originally chrome, as well as the engine, during an 18 year storage in an unheated shed. I'm pretty sure it would have looked like a lot of the barn finds that get posted here if not for the paint. At this point, it's part of my history, and it's going to stay the way it is 'till my kids find themselves its owners.

(although I'm liking the black headlight ring idea  )

Yeah, I actually like the black, plain paint look too, just the fact I had a new one in '72 , and I have a set of R.B.s stripes, dictates I have to do mine original........ But we'll see what happens!
