Warning, this is a 4-stroke post.......

Just spent a wonderful week up in the mountains of NC with two friends Jim-C (jcsnook) and KC (not a board member) but a fellow enthusiast on his Duc motard. We mapped and rode over 1,002 miles in four days. Weather was outstanding the first four days, we did justice to obeying the speed limit x2 especially in the twisties. We did a lot of miles on the blue ridge at a stupid but fun pace and as always got a tight ass in the tunnels lol. We were granted a nice cabin just up the road from Maggie Valley to call home and enjoyed hanging out. I got the responsibility as lead as I had mapped the routes on my Zumo 660LM and we took it from there (was riding my Versys, don't laugh, this preppy motor runs rings around the VSTROM) We rode 1,202 miles in four days, it was epic. The weather cooperated and we enjoyed the 50-60 degree temps. A better time could not be had.

Looking forward to Barber, and I will be heading after up to the Gap resort for a couple of days of spirited riding up 28 which is some of the nicest stretch of road God ever paved!

Videos to follow......

Rained Thursday and Friday, before we left, visited a friend on the hill who had a beautiful spread including a nice stream where KC snagged a speckled trout. A perfect end to a great trip........

Good stuff..!!!

I've been all over those roads. Just did about 1,800 miles on my R1200R going north of Asheville up into West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia.

It was sketchy at first with gravel in the turns but got much better near the end with new pavement and tight twisties like the dragon. Found a lot of unexpected fun on state roads as they weaved up and down thru the mountains. Tons of nice roads, could spend months there riding them over and over.
