If they could be adjusted to crack off at 4 psi, I don't see why not. Cheap enough for the experiment.

What if they cracked at 4psi or less, but still kept the oil from seeping by?
I know mother Kaw designed them for 4 but what pressure does the pump actually put out for the max volume we would need?

The pump's output is not related to the output pressure, since it's a positive displacement pump. I believe the 4 psi is to keep vacuum in the crankcase chambers from sucking on the oil lines and possibly causing over oiling or air in the lines.

5/16? pretty damn big. you can get checkvalves to work.. just have to look around. low cracking pressure is not an issue, down as low as 2 is ok. you will need much smaller valves though, maybe max 1/8"

Fwiw I used much less oil with 4 psi cracking pressure.
My bike smoked less with dyno than it did previously with synthetic.
Mind you, I repaired the checks at the same time, so maybe it's all with that but I suspect weak springs will allow the oil to be drawn in easier as well.

I know in at least some cases, sucking on the pump will cause oil to flow through it beyond the metered amount, so it would seem that the valves need to have a high enough cracking pressure to prevent that. What that number really is, I can only guess.

I've been told that a Yamaha pn. 6R3-13183-10-00 - VALVE, CHECK is a good alternate when making your own oil lines.
Have not tried them, but will someday.
These are used on Yamaha outboards & Waverunners.
