I want to go dual discs on my H2. Saw this dual disc set up on a H1 at a bone yard. Looks a little odd, are the holes too big? Are they ok? What does it cost to have disc drilled? Might get these if OK.

I wouldn't want them. I won't tell the story again, but I had a bad experience with big holes and won't repeat it.

Those look to be EXACTLY as Steve and I drilled, the first ones ever, for Yvon's H2R's, early December of 1972, Team Kawasaki Road Race. 72 - I/2 inch holes, each disk. NEVER had one give us a problem, and, no matter if they were on wire or Morris Mag wheels, they were all built/drilled from stock street bike disks straight out of the KMC parts department in Santa Ana, Ca., no special materials. They were drilled to reduce the unsprung weight of the front end of the bike, so the suspension would work better, no matter what anyone else says. BTW, we did not narrow them, either.

I have a disc with holes like that on my KZ900. It makes a whirring noise when braking hard, seems to work okay. I'm just riding around though, not racing.

The standard question, are you doing it for looks, or for better stopping power?

Go with the EX caliper conversion then. Cheap, and better than the dual stockers. And much lighter than duals.

Does it really matter? You shouldn't expect better braking with drilled rotors and the above rotors look like crap! the best you could hope for is a lighter rotor.

When I had mine drilled, I made sure that none of the holes cross the edge of the pad, not that I'm certain that would be a problem, I just felt the holes should be completely within the "pad zone"
