Hey guys!
Thank you in advance for the advice. I'm sorting my '75 H1 and I am concerned with the weight of the front brake rotors. 6lbs 10oz each!!
I want to cut them down and then drill.
My question is how far can you cut these thinner before they're junk? Spec is 6mm but I still think that is too thick. Anyone done this yet?

I don't like to go less than 5.5. with a single disc, but some have gone to 5mm. Get a EX 500 caliper and you can remove a bunch of unused disc.

am full brembo front: the whole kit, double discs, calipers, master cylinder, hoses, 8-) is a little lighter than a genuine single disc

If you want to get serious and drop some weight off of your rotor you can do this.

Picked up some old rotors of an old 600 cc bike. They are original and just 3.5 mm thick.
Even at this thickness, they do not warp over overheat.
There are some calipers around with rather tiny brakepads, having friction material of just a 1 inch high.
While most pads are close to 2 inch high you can machine a lot of material of the rotor and safe even more weight.
