For an H2
I need an easy but fun project this winter for an H2.
After the standard mods, is this worth the trouble (and modern looks)?

Do you mean a FZR 400 :?: I believe the axle diameter for that swingarm will be different than the h2, but on the up side that would be a perfect time to drop some weight and put a h1 rear brake on which is the same size axle as the fzr.

Oops; yes FZR.
Ironically I have a spare H1 rear hub.
Any thoughts as to weight savings with a re-lace with the H1 drum and new swinger?

It would probably be a wash from the stock parts. If I remember correctly the fzr swinger is a tad heavier than a stock swing arm, I could be wrong on that though. Even if the h1 hub and fzr swingarm weigh the same as the stock setup, you should get some benefit of the lighter drum since it is the farthest from the pivot so it would be less mass moving out there.

The 500 hub assembly is a lot lighter than the H2......
