My garage looks like that too, I just throw stuff all over the place before I take pics so it looks like I'm working on something  !

This should be the last piece of bracing going into the frame. I have pretty much just been copying the kh500 frame. I have been holding off on putting the X in the tubes behind the motor mostly because I would like to keep that area open for air filters. At this point it probably won't go in. Whether or not any of this bracing is actually needed I am not sure of. I mostly did it because had I not, I would have always wondered if I should have.

At this point for piece of mind the frame and swingarm are going out to get checked for straightness before I move on and weld in the upper shock mounts. In the mean time I am going to see what I can come up with for wheels and brakes so hopefully when it gets back I can get it to a roller state.

Good skills! Very crisp welding.

Just a small update, the frame and swingarm made a long journey to be checked out for straightness before I went any farther. It has checked out ok and has made its way back to me and I got the shock mounts welded in.

I also got some new rear shocks for it, the adjustability is great but the spring rate seems a little stiff :problem:. The rebound and dampening aren't all that great either.

I got the final wheel adjusters machined, up until this point I was working with temporary ones. The two smaller holes are for the axle, each a different measurement off center. Between those two axle positions and either going above or below the centerline with the cams I should have quite a bit of adjustability even with only one lower shock position.

I also got a new pair of wheel spacers machined for the rear wheel. I have one of the fronts done as well but I am waiting for a tap to show up to finish the other.

Up next is on to wheels to get it rolling.

Parts are looking great! And give the "shocks" a chance, they may "loosen up" after some use......

I'll start with the rear wheel first. I ended up using a S series rear hub for the bike. It is a little lighter than a stock h1 and it also is cable operated which I wanted.

I machined some scallops into the ribs in the middle of the hub.

I also drilled out the in between the spoke holes

After.....(I know not the same exact hub as the before)

I also machined the drum surface, it was kind of rough before I started.

And one last mod, I put a couple of speed holes into the backing plate.

Rear wheel continued in the next post.

Here are the rest of the pics for the rear wheel. The rim is an aluminum Sun 3.5" wide and has a Bridgestone BT45 130/70-18 tire mounted onto it.

The homemade truing stand I made is earning its keep.

All done and the tire mounted.

Up next is the front wheel.

For the front wheel I am using the stock h1 front hub with some mods to it. Pics can speak for themselves.
