Grinder. Lovely thing :-)

I'm soon to receive my cc speciality right hand 90 degree porting tool. Quite expensive I have to say, but hopefully my new toy will last forever, and I will be able to do my transfers in a decent way.
If I suceed with my project, I will continue. This is difficult I think, but fun! Still hope for my 100 rwhp, has 87 so far. (With old dencoes, have not tried the Jolly's yet)

At least I do know my new ignition is ok, right Jim   :) :)

I bought an air powered miniature right angle grinder last year for about $140 US delivered. Man, it made porting easier than last time I bumbled along with a Dremel tool. I used it with small carbide burrs and miniature sandpaper rolls, being careful to keep the sandpaper rolls well below maximum speed. It looks like the price has gone up a bit (link below). What kind did you get?

Their site is down at the moment, but I got this kit:

I can see you maybe did a better trade, but I'm sure I will be satysfied with my new tool.

A correction for tha picture of that grey bike I showed in this thread; It Is ported as well by Chris Ritchie, but I think the engine was mounted and aligned to Ebos long rod racing crank and tuned in by Ebos.

I'm glad to hear that with your 90 degree tool, the port shaping became easier :-)

Jorgen

I see what you mean about not being cheap, but it is a nice set. You'll be able to control the speed easier than I can too. I learned how to keep the speed down to a safe level for the sandpaper rolls, but not until after one flew across the shop at the speed of a bullet. The air powered one I got really is nice to have though, especially for someone who isn't planning to port cylinders every day.

A standard H2 hop up was using a heavier duty Yamaha rod. (before the heavy duty rods came out a few years ago for the H2's) These were 5mm longer and had 18mm pins (vs 16 on the H2) And they did make for a better rod ratio.
