| Post subject: | Dry clutch for h1? |
Has anyone put a dry clutch setup on a standard h1 engine? Is is possible to do with obtainable and semi bolt on parts? I am sure there will be some machining and fab work, but I would not be looking for a major project either. Its not anything I work on doesn't turn into a major project though  . Any thoughts, anyone try it?I don't not why either, just thought it would be different. I know the input on it would probably not equal the output on a project like this. |

A guy on the Canadian board built one for his S2 racing bike. It looked like quite a bit of fabrication work. |

Not worth the trouble, you need to get a longer main shaft made, get the rest of the special parts, and dry clutches suck anyway........ |

^^^^^^Party Pooper!   They do indeed look (and sound) neat though!!  The ultimate bling indeed to a motor head!  I did hear there was somebody in Italy casting the required H1R clutch cover, but was spendy..... Perhaps contact those in the H1R crowd (Dave Crussell (h2racer) or malc87 or Gerrit are a few that come to mind) for details of sources of the bits required.  J |

I would think you should plan to never do a drag type start with a lot of clutch slipping if you have a dry clutch. Or at least not twice with the same clutch. |

Well, FWIW, There is a pic of Tony N sitting on a custom framed drag bike sporting an H1R engine, complete with a dry clutch. J |

I believe it, but I suspect those plates got changed pretty often. |
