following up. this is the baseline for my S2 PRE REEDS so i can see how it affects the curve.
a lot have seen this elsewhere but seems relevant here.

the 59 HP was the first run, i did 2 others (that i forgot to sit ont he seat when runnign ont he dyno) and read the other 2 numbers. my mistake! so, im figuuring if i average them im starting off at around 50 RWHP. Not too shabby for a non ported/non corrected head S2. the kids at the dyno place were very impressed with the dinosaur and had never seen a triple. and yes, you read right, I ran it on the dyno.

more to follow when i get the adapters on hopefully this week or next. trying to stuff a new motor in the 62 falcon right now too. busy fall!

Was it the H1 CDI messing up the graphs? They look like a connect-the-dots for Lisa Simpson's hair or something. 45.6 and 47.2 seem like a very strong running S2, and they're close to each other, which makes them look pretty legit. 59 seems like the dyno was going ape.

the loop at the top is where the zeeltronic rev limiter kicked in.

I should probably run it again for another baseline but i was off the seat for the 45 and 47 runs. im pretty sure it was slipping the tire. even the dyno guy thought so but i'll rerun it next week maybe.

I don't understand how a rev limiter would make a loop. Wouldn't you think it would just hold the RPM steady at the limit setting? The graph shows the RPM drop while the torque continues to climb. Maybe its a phenomenon of inertia dynos and rev limiters, but it seems odd.

Is RPM taken from the ignition, or is it calculated from rear wheel speed and the overall drive ratio?

rpm is from ignition. i watched it thats exactly where the rev limiter hit. i rolled it back down as not to shock the transmission. it did the same thing on all the runs. at the very top of the limit i have it retarded a LOT then it clips it.its sort of a 'soft' limiter', not a stutter type.

it is. very easy on the motor, no sudden shock when hitting the limiter for me is good. easier on the internals. that zeeltronic is an awesome awesome unit.
