I am in the process of creating a parts list to rebuild my crank. I have enlisted the help of a former H2 race tuner/mechanic to do the job, and have experience with his work on my dad's RZ. I know that some cranks can be upgraded with newer parts, my dads RZ for instance got TZ main bearings. Are there any such upgrades for H2 cranks? Main bearings with more balls than stock?

Not much in the way of mods. Quality IS important.
You should be able to get everything you need without worry here:

How much money do you want to spend? We have a crank with ceramic bearings from www.worldwidebearings.com balanced IMS Pro Series rods, Chris Ritchie Lab Seals and it was balanced by Crank works. Its a nice crank.

Not that much really, when you consider what the four stroke guys pay. Retail for all of it was less than 2K and $850 of that was the rebuild/balance by Crankworks.

But is a sweet crank

Not looking to spend a fortune on the crank build, just want to get it in good running condition. If there were simple upgrades to the be had, I would most likely spring for them.

Parts so far:
std rubber (viton?) seals

Not sure if either of these are needed (8K on stock parts), but if im going to replace the seals, I might as well:
big end bearings
main bearings

Do I need to replace the thrust washers on either side of the big end bearings? Where can I just get the washers? I see that most of the websites offer them included in a rod kit, but I do not need new rods as far as I know.

It would be easier and cheaper to get one of the crank builders here to do your crank, and you can get lab seals and not worrry abot center seals again......
