Hi,
I'm building a chamber exhaust system for a '73 s2 350, I purchased the program two stroke wizard and was wondering what an exhaust open period is and what main transfer period is? If anybody knows what those are for this bike or just in general I'd appreciate it. And any words of wisdom for somone building a chamber exhaust for the first time.
Thanks-Justin

Stock port specs and some Denco and racing specs are on the resource site. They might be a good starting point.

While it is highly unlikely that you can build a first set as good as you can buy for a reasonable price, I think it terrible advice to advise someone not to research and build something if they are truly interested.

Very few fabricators of anything built there first project BETTER than they could have purchased, yet many of the good ones went on to build something better than the current best model

Just as long as your have realistic expectations and the drive, I suggest getting your hands dirty

JimC: Isn't that how we all got started some time?
Seems like very few youngsters take the trouble to go find out thing out in the garage these days.
Great you do Justin, asuming you are a young guy.

Agreed Leo; just don't want to see folks get discouraged by a post on a stupid online forum

I doubt any builder, fabricator, tuner ever started their craft even remotely even with other long time competitors
You've got to start somewhere although many seeem afraid to try; seems to me that many technical advancements came after a string of failures

That's what nice about message boards, plenty of different opinions. I personally don't understand "reinventing" the wheel. But as it seems, some guys just want to do things to do them. So that's cool too.......
