Wondered what you ever did with those.
How does it run and are you using the stock oiling system?
Both bikes look beautiful.

The bike runs wonderfully! I have had massive tranny problems with it though,I had to rebuild the motor four times in 100 miles as nothing I did cured the trans problem completely, it started with a jump out of gear, then it jumped out of first and smashed the cases as the undercut on first gear was too severe, power wise the motor is just a dream to ride, If I could get those reeds onto my Red H2c I would be in heaven! And yes, the Gold bike retains the stock oiling system, all oils nowadays are light years better than the stuff we used 30 years ago in fact, it may be wiser to swap to a 250 oil pump

I NEVER catch up Barry :banghead But, here is an edited highlight of it's life . . .
.
When I first bought the bike used in 1977 it was red (note the U.K.specseat with strap and buckle) it had the typical rust patch behind the badge so my pal George took them to raleigh to get them sprayed and signwritten, the "white" lettering on the tank was prysmatic decals that you could buy backin the day.

A few years later I was out pulling the Worlds biggest wheelie when the thottle jammed open :o

.
We parted company in 2nd gear at 90MPH . . .and 11,250 RPM
.

.
the bike was poorly

But came back again as Purple -

and back to the wheelie practice (The side stand spring was weak)

.
Until I threw it away in front of a cop car in the rain (going WAY too fast, saw him, braked and lost the front end on a white line)

So . . . Chrome would be good 8-)

Or red ?

Or Purple?

I wanted the bike to be something special performance wise, I dreamt of it being as fast as my "street" Drag bike, and at Norwalk a couple of years back I bought a Gast Top end and carbs etc, coupled with a set of Jim Knights "Street" Sidewinders it took to the road in Sept this year.

When I bought the bike it wasin the Red, in the U.K.90% ofall H2c's are Purple so I found a set of Original paintwork and fitted it.

The bike was "Lively" to say the least and less than 24 hours later it was at the drag strip,it was incredibly difficult to ride, skinny back tyre and as soon as the power hit in any gear up came the front Wheel.

  You're a star John! When the bike was going over backwards I kicked it away, I seem to remember the tail dug in and it flipped down onto the front end, it then quite literally bounced a good 15 feet in the air, I carried on rolling down the tarmac to see it do a complete somersault and smash down on the clocks, as I carried on rolling the bike carried on bouncing end to end, it then bounced up again and probably did at least three complete somersaults before landing in a field and still revving it's nuts off, your chart would suggest that the "departure speed" was just over 100 mph  and with the friction on the pads on the front brake the front wheel maybe slowed 10 mph  - All I know is that I ruined the denim jacket and trainers that I was wearing :D I will always remember them at the hospital SCRUBBING the gravel out of my hands arms and ankle  (Go on then, say it, . . . . . I didn't learn my lesson :P )
