Post subject:  Oil pump settings with TM34s

Hi all,

Recently refreshed my H2B top end with Wossners and TM34 miks.

Ive used Yamaha outboard check valves in the oil lines and am using one of the carb vents as an injector, all seems well but I had a thought -

If Im using 4mm bigger carbs, using more fuel will the stock oil pump settings for the stock 30mm carbs be enough?

Just something that crossed my mind

-You assume that increased carb size will decrease fuel mileage... it may be just the opposite.
-Modern oils do a better job lubricating than those used when specs were derived.
-There are a LOT of VM34s in use with no reported problems.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I have an H2B that I have cut the oil flow by about 15%ish employing an H1 oil pump. Over 8000 kilometers in six years on the Wossners and it still pulls the same. Low smoke oil keeps the tree huggers happy. You'll be fine. I too use Yamaha valves but the metal ones from a triple 2T sno-moe-bill (3-3.5 pisg crack).
