I have a nice 72 H2 tach complete if you want to go that route that I would sell for $100 plus shipping.

Thanks for the offer, but part of this project is I am trying to use parts from my stash......
But...I do still need a nice tach or trim ring for my early 69 500

Considering a triple tree from an early H2 for this build. Will the 72 73 H2 tree bolt right up to the 75 H1 Frame using the H1 Forks?

Motor is in. I ditched all the upper tree parts and gauges. Put my old clip ons on. Started de-tabbing the 500 frame to see what I need, and what I dont. I finally brought the tracy body and stingers to work today to try a fit for the first time. I have had this body for 8-9 years or so. I actually bought it from a board member back then. He was from cali and had a green denco tracy body bike...maybe it was the old board? Anyway, the stingers have been laying around forever. I never mounded them to my H2 before. So today was the first time. The pipes took some fiddling to figure out which was which. The hangers are way off. Dont know if its because they are for a 750 frame, or because they are meant for a drag chassis? I dont have my 750 here to compare . The body wasnt much easier to get to settle in. At this point im not even sure its for a triple. It has an oil tank cap hole on the right, and my 74 frame doesnt have that. So...make it fit. Had to cut the rear 9 inches or so off the frame, along with the coil mounting tabs on the top tube so the tank tunnel would settle down enough. Also had to shorten the upper shock mount studs. The up side is that the side panels completely cover the battery area so I should be able to hide everything in there. Slow progress. Bike looks low and wicked. Its great to finally use these things that I have been hanging onto for so long. At some point I will have to figure out how to post pics.
